Insulated glass units traveling over mountain passes or installed at elevation may need to be built or adjusted for altitude so they do not over-pressurize. Snow and ice loads, intense UV and big temperature swings all factor into product choice and installation detail.
Homes in wildland–urban interface areas may also be subject to fire-resistive glazing requirements, typically calling for dual-pane units with tempered glass. We will help you confirm what applies to your property.

Often, yes. Insulated glass made at low elevation can bow or fail when installed at altitude, so manufacturers use capillary tubes or altitude-adjusted units. We account for this when ordering.
